Review

The Rugz is a warm and welcoming establishment, distinguishing it from the many others in the same minimalist style. Clear, light rooms provide the ideal setting for well-positioned contemporary art. Dinner was a delicious fusion of Middle Eastern sausages, fragrant Greek salad and 'Smak' gerkin. Multy channel television was on offer after supper, though I opted to recline in the Upper Lounge, escaping for a while from the tiring buzz of the city. Inevitably, the reputation of the collection does attract a rather pretentious clientel, but the bathroom was functional, the air-bed comfortable, and a fine quality of clean, Egyptian cotton sheets were provided. A wide selection of complimentary compact discs were also available. Highly recommended to the independent traveller, or couples, though families with younger children may be deterred by the curator.
