Watching so much of the Olympics has made me feel flabby-chested and knock-kneed so I propelled myself towards the closest gym complex and negotiated a one month contract. They did not insist on the induction course, which I was very grateful for as I am a seasoned expert at that sort of thing. I had even brought proof of previous adherences to two earlier gyms. They have all manner of highly technical equipment and a very elegant changing room with wooden lockers. I bumped into a couple of friends, one of them was shaving and it was only 1 o'clock! Just had time for running, cycling and rowing. Felt ready to flop over after row. The only downside was that they were closed 2 hours earlier than advertised so I have resorted to writing this mild diatribe.
