Review

http://www.flaca.co.uk/ Group show: Olivia Fitzgerald, Lee Maelzer, John Moseley, Harry Pye, Neil Reddy, Billy Smart, Lucy Soutter.

What's the point of group shows? I wish there were more solo shows (for me). Too many group shows.

This show is in a small gallery in Broadway Market. There were lots of good food smells floating around, but none of the bourgeoiss shopping seemed particularly interested in visiting either of the galleries set up to entertain them. This Flaca show was better than the other gallery's one, the other gallery was a bit cute with lots of nice things in frames, the Flaca Virgo show was more slobby and dirty.

Having insulted the other gallery, group shows, and Broadway market, I will now move onto the artworks in this show. Billy Smart's list was interesting. Harry Pye's paintings suffered from too much Picasso-esque black outlining. The sillier they are, the better they get. John Mosely's 100 windows was ok. I didn't like the annuals. That's what I thought.

I ate half a sausage sandwich and left, nourished.
