Review

After you've seen this, you'll understand how Ernesto "Che" Guevara managed to enlist the support and empathy of thousands in his revolutionary crusade in Cuba and Bolivia. In this film, he's a gentle hero, not the brutal revolutionary many have portrayed him to be. But this film isn't about the revolution. We meet a youthful and impassioned Che who has only one more exam to sit before he finishes his medical degree. But he can't suppress his hunger for adventure and discovery so he embarks on a journey through South America on an overloaded and clapped out motorbike with his best friend, womanising Alberto Granado. A journey which begins as a quest for discovery and excitement becomes an enlightening journey of the soul which changes the way Che sees the world forever. This is a roadie film which touches you with its tenderness. It will inspire you as it leads you down the path of social justice. There are also some beautifully humourous moments. The way in which the film is shot suits its genre and the cinematography is great too. If you never get the chance to go to South America, this film is the next best thing.
