It's not meant to be Winter, it's meant to be Autumn. It's the rain that gets me. I can find the charm in the coldness, but the continuous damp. Waking to dark rain and a day that never brightens. Even then it could be kinda okay, as you say, because you're snug and warm inside and it's a convenient contrast. But when you have to go out in it... It's okay when you get soaked to the skin on your bicycle the first time in one day, but then to cycle accross town again in the evening. Even going for an Autumn walk is marred by the leaves becoming soggy and black, not crisp cold with sun. Down with rain, down with British 'Autumn'.
