The Man Booker Prize 2004

How embarrassing having all the nervous publishers/ editors and blustering agents interviewed next to their authors, in black tie, and silly kirsty squawk posing inane questions. Alan hollinghurst won for cleverly deciding to write about the eighties, better him than all the lush multi-voiced creative writing bods.

They should have a Woman Booker prize. It's only fair.
