What to do on a beachy island when its raining...? Not just drizzle wither, proper tropical downpour. Did what ususally would do on a grim rainy day in London I suppose, drinking coffee in a caff. No Starbucks though, and this is the only place on the island whre they offer you a whole pages selection of different types of coffee - cappucinos and the like. They use condensed milk in a lot of things here, and Annieīs cappucino is nice but a bit intense.Do some shopping, the ususual things, T shirt for brother, crafty things for Mum. The obligatory key ring. Still raining. Read on the hammock. Still raining when we leave to go and eat in the afternoon. For the first time wonder if I am bored....Evening entertainment of live musicians is excellent, although rudely interrupted by sudden gust of wind and rain blowing onto everyone on the terrace, blinds are hurriedly pulled down and the gig resumes after the guy wipes down the water off live sockets using his bare hands and serviettes. The day before was beautiful - went to another isalnd where we did the touristy thing and were guided around termite nests and parasitic trees, told about the manufacture of native palm oil, saw buzzards on the beach. Itīs perfect weather again today, so am off to the beach for the last time before the epic journey down to Rio (30 hours on a coach...!)
