The last entry i think before flight to Blighty tomorrow. After a hairy 20 hour coach ride to Rio, which included torrential rainfall and panic that coach had left without travelling partner, we are here, in the beautiful city. we have done the tourist sights, Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain, both picture postcard memories. There is a sense of sadness that the arrival in this huge city means a step closer to civilisation, away from the idyll that was paradise beaches and glorious sun, it is indeed overcast and colder here and we are both bracing ourselves for the cold, needing to acclimatise once we hit the runway in Heathrow. But we are in party city and it is our last night, both anticipating a big farewell to our travels this eve, dreading the mundanity of work and the everyday again, but vowing to let this holiday high keep us going til next time. Well, at least until Christmas....
