Review

Where was the youth vote for Raphael? The galleries contained 98% people older than Raphael was when he died at 37. One oldie had collapsed at was being treated with oxygen by bicycle ambulance men at the entrance to the show.

Are paintings boring? Is is only retirees with time to waste who want to see them? Perhaps young people mostly have jobs which prevent them from seeing art during the day? But surely then it would make sense to have late opening more than once a week?

Anyway.... These paintings are great. Take a day off and see it. Apart from a crummy copy of a Jesus carrying painting (original glows in the Museo Borghese), which occupies a prominent position, and seemed to pass itself off as real to must of the customers. What's so good about die young Raphael. Delicate beauty. Abstract perfection through labour. Restraint. Better to see them, than hear my used up adjectives.
