Review

Taking a plane at such an early hour offers advantages as well as disadvantages. The former being the unusually long day you'll enjoy, if you stay awake the whole way through, the normally reduced fee of flying at 7am and the quickness of checking-in and boarding. The disadvantages include having to wake up around 5am, annoying other people by getting up so early and the slow realisation that money isn't everything. Nevertheless, it still constitutes a worthwhile experience. I briefly spoke to the gentleman in the window seat, mainly to help pass the tedium, which he wasn't able to quell, but also to keep my mind off things. The flight was as quick as the propeller plane, despite this one being a jet. I made an effort of looking outside and seeing life through a lens; the sun rising and clouds were particularly impressive. People were all off to different places, then at Gatwick I met people from other places too; it was a mish-mosh. Spoke to someone who thought it was late to be studying medicine, which is fine. Maybe I'll be more political next time. Took the train and arrived for my second lecture. And I'm still awake.
