Must all artists be so humble, modest, and self-righteously sincere? Must they all say how crazy and silly prizes are? How all the other artists deserved it? How they just want to get on with their work(!?)? How they hate publicity?

Can't one of them stop lying and take some fucking joy and exuberant satisfaction, even for god's sake, say they really wanted to win it, and how they are the best artist in England now!. How refreshing that would be.

No we must be told by Deller that he is a facilitator, and that "art isn't about about what you make, but what you make happen". Duh. But you always make something, and that makes something happen. And if you make something good it makes things happen. And his films, happenings, etc. make nothing happen of any interest to anyone with a brain.

Q: Does Deller do a load of crap? A: Yes.
