Allchurch reconstructs old great paintings out of bits of photoshopped together photos of grotty London. They are pretty good, with shining bright Jeff wall-like lightbox luminescence, and fascinating in their elaborate deceit, graffiti and signage creating the most satisfying juxtapositions in the shabbified Elysian scapes. Could all be a tad meretricious? Not really, it is rare to find delight in the contemporary artpocalypse.. The Blue Gallery had not enough hullabaloo on the night of the opening.
