Well put, indeed. The show is a reflection of Hollywood's obsession with being taken seriously- which is itself a masterpiece of ironic humnor I imagine. And so we have a Jesus-figure president surrounded by brilliant acolytes.
It's a pity we don't have anything in this country that portrays government with the wit that "Yes, Minister" did- although I think at times that Spin City managed to capture the irrationality of it all.
