two of the tellers are sikhs with turbans. the customer behind me is a small man, with a rat face, shuffling two credit cards in his dirty card. an oldish white woman with dyed blonde hair is taking ages at the window, chatting, buying stamps, paying bills, whatever, i'm not with it today she sings to the unmoved teller. the rat behind me says fuck this, the woman behind him says it's unbelievable. they agree that they both hate christmas, miserable time of year, just shopping and tv, and too many people everywhere, only good for the little uns says the woman. As the time-wasting woman leaves the rat says, not loudly, stupid cunt. I conduct my postal business with alacrity and get out.
