Like Dawson's creek, like the Bible. The first series sets up the couples in a state of grace, then at the end of genesis, comes the fall, they split up leaving us on a cliffhanger for the next series. All following series will have the protagonists trying and failing to get back together, the audience will scream they are perfect for each other, the script writers will keep tantalizing us and keep them sinful. And we will never get back to the child-like state of perfect coupledom that we began with.
