Still compelling. The format does not tire even if you do not like pop singing. The diversity of the American idolaters, their names, looks, hometowns, weights is so great that it makes you want to sing. There is a certain self-conscious positiveness amongst the contestants which can grate, but it is a mere trifle compared to the thrill of finding out who will succeed amongst all those who believe in success.
