Peculiar show. Strindberg was a good writer I think, not that I've read anything by him, but he must be because the name is vaguely famous. His paintings range from clumsy kitsch to nice semi-amateur landscapes. I wonder why he needed a show at the Tate, there must be at least a 1000 more interesting artists. And why in the untitled gallery downstairs do they show such crappy thin contempoary art. It's like they're trying to prove new art is bad, and make the boring light brown art by bourgeois, whiteread, beuys et al seem more exciting. Peculiar.
