Absurd offensive graphic rubbish, profoundly superficial in its attempts to report the sheen of our dominant society. The stories, as with many American series, become more and more torturous to the characters, making them suffer extreme mental and phyiscal provocations, to which in time honoured tv cliche they respond by retching/ or vomiting. The beauty of the show is in its ugly mix of faux profundity, themes of father and motherhood, sexual violence, body mutilation shown in eye open detail, silicone sensuality, and the good ol family. The dilemma every week is the same: how to raise the whole into the most decadent baroque screech yet heard through the television plasma tube.
