Do you think socks affect how well a shoe fits? I tried a pair of last year's La Coste trainers, size 9, with thin 100 % cotton socks(!), and they fit nicely. However I ususally take the half-size above or more. So I'm thinking either a La Coste 9 is bigger than other brands, or sock thickness might be an issue. I sugessted this to the salesperson who tried to locate thicker socks but failed. I'll return triumphantly on Saturday, with a quick stop to have my shoe-size measured by that Clarks machine, if it still exists. To think they used to X-ray people's feet...
