Review

As I write on this wonderfully symmetrical date (does symmetry really have 2 ms? It adds to the symmetry of it) I find myself thinking of other mathematically minded areas- 4 letter words. It struck me that the f-word is often mentioned on this website, but I have yet to see the c-word. Why is the c-word so offensive? A lot of people are OK with the f-word, but not the c-word. Why is there no equivalent c-word for men? I can't find it in my dictionary of etymology. I know that John Keats talked about it in his letters. He wasn't the only one. Did Chaucer know about it? Mike Gatting certainly did when he argued with the umpire. It's just not cricket.
