Why are American restaurants in London always so damn disappointing? Don't tell me that its because American food is fatty and crap, it is, but it can taste fucking good. Went to the upstairs bit, looks the part, good menu of ribs and pulled pork and boiled beef, and nice diner style stools, and all you can drink coke... But they always look right, better than the real USA, take shitty Ed's Easy diner, another bullshit fake place.
The food comes on tray without a plate, just a piece of fucking paper to eat off. Americans were never this primitive. I had the pulled pork dinner. Which consisted of some roll-less shreds of flavourless pork, some ok fries, and some dumb coleslaw. The coke was ok. I had ribs too. Which were also shit, with a dollop of uncooked tasting bbq sauce on. And then a beef brisket roll, which was chewy and dead. All the meat tasted water-logged, probably par boiled and left to stew.. BBq is an art and this stuff was a fart.
You can make great American food I hope, but even in America it often sucks, so perhaps after all it just another phony idea like liberty and that jazz.
