Review

Enthralling spectacle. Ebdon, a will powered grinder, beat the dazzling maestro and current champ, the mercurial O'Sullivan. Complaints surfaced over Ebdons slow play, implying it was gamesmanship. Whatever. It worked. Ronnie O' let his demons out during the longeurs, and now vows to take a break, noone knows how seriously to take the threat.

The tournie last over two weeks, seemingly they joust night and day, and the duration, hours of concentration, ups and downs, old pros versus spikey haired podgy youngsters is a tough grind even for the armchair viewer. The players themselves sometimes train by going for a swim. If snooker is not a sport, then what is it? Life.
