Review

Brilliant, unlike everything we see now. Art Garfunkel as the leading man. Hhooray for odd looking people without sex packs. Visual elegance. A story without a happy ending. A story which isn't clear from three minutes in. Sex and death and big sun classes. Mittel-european angst and psychology. Film died in 1981 or something, perhaps Star wars was earlier. Before that music, pictures, stories, acting, ideas combined to make it stellar. After just big bold imagistic assault. Roeg has since directed an episode of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. How the mighty fell to earth.
