I was called up to play for my university in the middle hours of Friday. My girlfriend was down from Liverpool, we had to cut things short. Had a dream that we didn't play that well, and we didn't. So much for positive thinking. Thought back to earlier cricket matches for precedence. Wonder why people don't play cricket here at Sussex University. There are 5,000 males to chose from. Only 9 could be found for Kent University last week. Was dressed to kill, then changed into cricket whites. The others had creams or greys. It's about instilling fear in the opposition. Started off well, but then our batting crumbled, from 32 for none, to 64 all out. I was no.11 and ran myself out for a duck. Still our bowler took 4 wickets. There was a lot of banter, which are the players are very keen, but can descend into personal diatribe. Tried to revise for biochemistry but couldn't. Enjoyed the sun.
