A friend whose doing well says curators from Tate visited recently and were nice ladies who lunch without much to say. Another friend who curates at Tate says that the place is full of posh dead wood because Nick Serota sees jobs there as something for people of means to do until they get married, hence employs a lot on wages you can't really live on when he could employ less at...American rates (about double).
