A lady should not be seen eating in the street.
But things have changed since I had to write those lines in detention for being seen by the headmistress scoffing food in school uniform (can't imagine anyone would have to do that nowadays).
There's a dingy Indian takeaway on the side of Clapham South tube that's been doing the most easy to eat rolled flatbread stuffed with pakoras and yoghurt sauce. Been going at least the last 10 years. Yum yum. The slightly porous pakoras soak up the sauce minimising the spillage. Perfect for a quick dinner on the way out or on the way back home (or if you're drunk-hungry try both).
