What happened Lucas? You lose your brain after American Graffiti and Star Wars?
Like is commonly (falsely) said of Surrealist painting: imagination/dreams rendered real are banal because the means, paint/cgi, makes it all look drudgingly the same, and in the case of cgi is the product of a miilion nerds shredded nerves.. Sith, shit, shows us lots of alien landscapes which are all equally boring, in star wars world the sky is always a picture postcard sunset, making you long for a mellow gray day.
Shit has all the usual problems of a contemporary blockbuster: no story just scenes, actors humiliating themselves whilst pretending they are being ironic, and not the slightest attempt or ambition to make a film.
Perhaps the exception is the last segment which has some power, as darth and the twins luke and leah are born in an intercut sequence, Imagine (would they have)that the whole movie had this operatic exuberance. It might have been as good as Star Wars.
