Did anyone else notice that during interview it came out that most of the bands at Live8 were either too young to remember Live Aid, twenty years ago, or else had actually participated then. How does that work? It was also striking to see how badly out of tune most of the performers were (strongest were the backing singers). I don't think those trousers suited Madonna, the baggy crotch look may be street but it's not right for everybody. When Bill Gates came on stage my jaw dropped and I fully expected that Blair himself would be next up to do a star turn. None of it made any sense. The whole thing was ever so depressing, it made me cry - really.
