The best statement on something like this I've seen a politician give for some time. He looked simultaneously angry and on the verge of tears. He expressed disgust that this was an attack not on the powerful but on 'ordinary working class people'. Shortly afterwards we had Blair's bland reassurance that his thoughts, naturally, were with the victims, the families of the victims etc.
