Ok, it's not that scary, but they keep twisting the plot, and that makes you keep watching. The music is insistent. The hero and heroine are pumped up plastic. The old guy with the knives is good. The premise is great, a whole bunch of strangers plane-wrecked on a desert island. Gotta work. Does.
