oil company sponsors oil paintings. the relentless litany of defunct painting by the book styles, a tragedy of reactionary aggression against modernism, the hamfisted flailings of delusionals impersonating velazquez, auerbach, freud, hockney et al as close to reality as stars in their eyes, the portrait of some flat photos of people, art in drag. A joke about painting. Does it look like him/her?
