Brindley Art Centre, Runcorn

I visited recently the Brindley Art Centre in Runcorn. The name comes from the Jame Brindley the engineer of the Bridgewater Canal, which is adjacent to the centre.

Brindley is a universal arts centre i.e. theatre, classical and popular concerts, films, exhibitions, workshops, bar and cafe.

The present art show is Matisse: Drawing with Scissors his Late Works from 1950 - 1954. The show is a National Touring Exhibition from the Hayward Gallery. All works are colourful lithograph framed prints. The exhibition space is light and well suited for vibrant works of art.

Recent concerts by Kathryn Williams, Mercury Music Prize nominee and Eliza Carthy with Sharon Shannon. Films such as The Motorcycle Diaries and House Of Flying Daggers make Brindley Art Centre a place to visit.
