Foster's face shows tension well. Many reviewers have discussed the implausibility of the plot http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408790/board/nest/27186960. I don't try to follow plots too closely, just recognize there is a plot and that it allows the stars to dazzle. Airplane interiors are a space not very often examined in fiction, except in disaster movies and their spoofs, and they are fascinating laboratories of human confinement. I wished for fewer extortionists, and more time spent cranking up Foster's nerves and not knowing whether her paranoia was justified. The captain is the boss, and the passengers the mob, and earthbound rights suspended, what a place to dream a movie.
