I seriously feel that the rich occupy some spectral realm for most of us mortals. Maybe every culture needs to have its untouchable class. I was thinking some weeks ago about the Hindu system and the different classes of people. Really is our culture any different? Maybe celebrity and fame are ways into a new class that was previously the exclusive arena of the aristocracy kings and courts. Who buys hello magazine? Seldom the rich I suppose. I should qualify my integrity buy saying I'm not evenly remotely well off. Does poverty breed its own form of scorn and bitterness?
