Steven J. Backman, Toothpick Sculptor, has been creating one-of-a-kind toothpick art for over thirty years. From intricately detailed art deco sculptures to a radio-controlled toothpick yacht that floats in water, Mr. Backman has received worldwide attention for his creativity.

In May of 1987, Mr. Backman’s toothpick sculpture of the Golden Gate Bridge, measuring thirteen feet in length, brought him international attention. It is currently on display at “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” Museum in Hollywood, California. Mr. Backman is continuing his legacy by creating unforgettable toothpick art that will be displayed in the main lobby of the Empire State Building from March through May of 2006.
