Review

I urge you to visit the excellent site www.afterRubens.org. It's the personal effort of a group of art historians (and other art-obsessed people) who, following Rubens exhibition in the National Gallery, argue against the authenticity of one of Ruben's paintings: Samson and Delilah Whatever the truth about the authorship of the painting is, the site deals with a fascinating story. As the site claims "our aim is to widen the body of visual and historical evidence available on the subject, allowing people to make their own, fully informed, examination and judgment of the painting, "We also hope to open up and make known a debate concerning a nationally owned artwork - a debate that until now has been the domain of a narrow circle".
