Review

Little old ladies like pigeons are to be found clucking and cooing in Fortnum’s and Masons eating their tea and cake. Why do they go there, what part of the slickly interior and overpriced gunk do they enjoy? Carves livers and mashed potato is a good meal for those with out teeth, found swimming in a murky pool of gravy – too tasty to be made from scratch. Alternatively there are salmon fishcakes, also accompanied by a sauce with which to further pulp the food should this be necessary. Should you want a taste of authentic English take out cuisine try out fish and chips, a dish you can trust to be cooked from frozen. For desert there are the range of Sundaes and cakes, but gone are their glory days, for now the glamour has gone and revealed them for what they are, and I am left only with pity for the dressed up waiting staff, serving, in their cheap suits and ties, me and morons.
