I'm pretty sure it was an art safari, yes. Saw it a long time ago on BBC4. I can see why people would be irritated by Ben Lewis, but I think he's good. He goes after people who generally inhabit such elevated, non-pop cultureal peaks of the art world that they never have to talk about their work except in the most arcane, hieorophantic mummery where the idea that there might actually be any problems with what they do just doesn't enter in, and he does it with the respect most of them deserve, but does touch a few sore spots in his good natured way. Gregor Schneider is a funny fish, definitely, but you got those odd blank moments in all the programmes where the artists and they're always good. There was one on Matthew Barney and his Cremaster cycle the other day and it was just briliant to be able to see something that contemporary and that tricky to think about being given so much space on TV. Just brilliant. Another good one was on Relational Art. Really nice moment when Gavin Brown, Rirkrit Tiravanija's gallerist, said how rubbish and pretentious he thought Nicholas Bourriard's book on the subject was.
