does king kong have a king dong? we never get the cgi on this. accusations of racism apart, the film is definitely guilty of grandiose overlong boringness and wallowing in interminable chases scenes str8 out of jurassic fart. it scores on a great kong (mobile guerilla with scale issues, not overtly political) and some nice depression era scenes. jackson recycles his orcs from lord of the rings, and the heroine is anaemic, not in a good way, the endless special effects, not special after a while, leave you wishing the three hours were up, that kong would drown or whatever, or that the cinema would burn down. the movies used to entrance, now they just distract.
