Celebrated hogamany in a mad rush to the Scottish capital. Was more of a spectator than a participator. But even participating in the Princes street scrimmage would put you back £25. Arrived in fitting style by Virgin trains. Noisy people in our carriage gave me the feeling that our train was packed, but a wander to the toilet revealed that it was quite empty. Keen to look out for differences between England and Scotland. Only had three hours to spare before midnight. We were in car when it actually turned a year. Some people hugged and kissed us. The fireworrks shot overhead. Spent a lot of the time walking back and forth in the streets to avoid clubbing.
