I was talking to an old lady on the bus today, I told her that January was me and my fella's dread month-the cold, the damp, the aftermath of xmas, the 31 miserable days, the debt / lack of money. She replied wryly that hers was September, the month that 'everything always goes wrong', I know what she means. Consider the evidence, us being given our notice on our flat, the car dying a death, having no money, miserable weather, my birthday (where every year we vow to kick back, not get stressed by the dire month, and plan something fun, every year we ...erherm downsize the plans) every year something rubbish happens inbetween xmas and mid jan that makes me want to cry. That is, outside of my whinging self pitying morbid dread of the cold and depressing financial overhang...like war, disease and poverty! That happens 365, 24-7, what am I on, talking about a mere 31 days?! I sit up straight and remember how f____ing lucky I am to be even sitting in front of a computer in a centrally heated house at all.
