Review

I had much the same thoughts. Enjoyed it on the basis of thinking that one he did about the train was great. His office interiors were all wrong, and Paul's eccentric sidekicks annoyingly pukesome examples of whimsy and quirkiness. I kept hoping he was going to show some profound ideas about the 80s and 90s or even lavish superficial detail, but no it was all carelessly done with a couple of dumb observations to make us understand what period we were in. There was no real sense of time or history passing. Then i saw some of a documentary about him, and he was a bit self-satisfied saying " I knew books on computers weren;t going to work" " I sometimes get the future right" and you thought of him walking round London and observing people and thinking he is right about how mobile phones make people stupid, and it's probably 20 years since he ever experienced anything new or deeply. And he has a bushy beard and a linen jacket and likes eccentrics, and reads a newspaper like the Guardian, and tut tuts about new technology and outsourcing, and that's why he gets it all wrong.
