Review

Well, this should prove I'm not Petra, at least.

Hi Petra. I've just read the exchange further down that prompted this. I'm sorry you took offense at my initial question. I meant none - I was just curious to know which language blp meant dumbo in. Now that you've printed your full name, I'm guessing you're Italian.

In all fairness, yes, you're right, I can't really be said to speak any languages other than English and, though I can lay a lot of blame on my education for that, I'm ashamed of and frustrated by it and have made some efforts to rectify it. Je parle un petit peu de Français, ein bischen bischen Deutsche e ancora ho imparato un po d'Italiano recentemente. Perhaps the Independent's free Italian in six weeks CD will help me with that last one when it comes out tomorrow.

For the record, my understanding of the title of this site is that its publishers' ambition for it is that it include reviews from all over the world. Even given its current diversity failures, such as they may be, I don't think there are any Nazis using it and I don't think the person who responded to you suggesting that speaking one language well was preferable to speaking a lot badly meant any specific criticism of you.
