It makes Leytonians' English homework a lot easier; the film was made as an adjunct to 'O' level coursework and has made a successful to GCSE. Now I've seen the film I feel ready to read the introduction to the book. I feel the film is an improvement on the book as it doesn't dwell too much on social class but gets more into the people as the people's people, as Anthony Blair might say. Here endeth the fun lesson.
